About the event

CAMA’s long-awaited full-length concert will include performances by the Seattle Chinese Orchestra, with beloved Roger Nelson conducting, the Northwest Chinese Gu-Zheng Orchestra, the ever-popular Northwest Chinese Drum Ensemble and the US China Music Ensemble.

The concert will spotlight a special arrangement of the Chinese classical masterpiece, The Butterfly Lovers’ Concerto, written by Chen Gang and He Zhanhao and featuring renowned erhu soloist, Warren Chang. This internationally recognized concerto tells a tragic love story and is considered one of the most famous Chinese orchestral works written. Audiences will once again be immersed in the beauty and mesmerizing cultural blending that can result when time-honored Chinese instruments are mixed with complementary Western classical instruments.

As the first and only traditional Chinese orchestra in the Northwest, The Seattle Chinese Orchestra and its parent organization, CAMA, have for over 30 years promoted Chinese culture, particularly China’s musical heritage. Our mission is to build understanding, appreciation, and friendship between the American and Chinese nations, peoples, and local communities through sharing the soul and spirit of Chinese music and arts.

This concert is sold out on our site. Please contact Benaroya Hall directly for additional tickets:
